The RP1 and RP2 pulleys have only been tested up to a static load of 100 lbs, they may withstand more weight but have not been tested. They were tested at a 30 degree rope angle resulting in an Angle Factor Multiplier of 1.93. This would yield a near 190 lb load on the suspension point of the pulley. The tests were NOT performed by a certified laboratory. The test consisted of suspending a 100 lb. weight with rope wrapped to a 30 degree angle around the pulley. Using the pulleys at that 100 lbs load would be very risky! Generally the working load should be no more than 1/3 the static tested load to account for shock and wear of the components. The working load includes the weight of the antenna and it s components, any snow or ice build up, and any wind load.


Never mount the antenna where a failure of the pulley could damage persons or property, nor allow the antenna to come in contact with a high tension power line. Every year radio enthusiasts are killed by AC power lines when their antennas come in contact during installation or due to a mounting system failure.
